Stanley Jr. and Dean and Professor of the College of Nursing Dr. Randolph Rasch\, are familiar with the science and medicine behind the COVID-19 pandemic\, how vaccines work\, and how herd immunity develops. \n\n\n\nDr. Stanley is an expert in infectious disease and recognized as one of the nation's top recipients of support from the National Institutes of Health for his research focusing on enhanced defense against emerging infectious agents such as bacteria or viruses. \n\n\n\nDr. Rasch has published and presented in the areas of primary care\, HIV risk reduction\, diversity in health care education\, and clinical practice. Dr. Rasch is a member of Gov. Whitmer's Michigan Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities\, currently advising on communicating with minority populations who may be skeptical about the vaccine and less inclined to get vaccinated.\n\n\n\nDuring this Town Hall\, Dr. Stanley and Dr. Rasch will discuss the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines and offer insight on how they will stop the pandemic. Tammy Carnrike\, chief operating officer for the Detroit Regional Chamber will moderate the discussion. Participants can submit questions during the Town Hall.
